I have been fly-fishing for 50 years...and have tried many different styles and makes of fishing vests. This is the best designed, highest quality and most efficient vest that I have ever owned. It is also priced affordably. I will most definitely be buying this vest again!

Received this as a Christmas gift a few years ago. I liked its many pockets and nice fit once adjusted. Took it out of storage recently to get ready for another fishing season and found that all the mesh straps were coming apart with the slightest tug on them. Expected better.

Okie Dokie, it's not a FishPond but...This vest is an awesome bang for the buck. All the pockets are useful and fit a myriad of fly boxes or other accessories.The rear has a pocket that is too small for a jacket but perfect for a water bottle or filter bottle like a BeFree. Behind that is a mesh panel with a zipper that is perfect for a vest or jacket but is NOT waterproof so you have to be careful not to wade deeper than waist deep if it is used for clothing.Lots of pockets and accessory loops. I try to limit my external accessories so not to get tangled in line but sometimes I over do it.I am thinking about removing some of the orange cord zipper pulls on the front to avoid tippet snags, but they are helpful to open and close when my hands are cold. Dilemma!Look, I started with saying it's not a FishPond. My fishing buddy has one, it's super nice, well built, great pocket design and $159.00. We fish quite a bit but I was having a hard time justifying that especially when I need new waders too. I pulled the trigger when I saw this in my Vine and I am glad I did. It works great. Also great pocket design and it can be adjusted in multiple directions. I am 509/170 and adjusted it how I like it. The zipper can be used or a front buckle depending on what clothing is used. A larger friend wanted to try it and he is 602/220. We were able to use the adjustable straps to get a great fit for him tooOverall if you need a fishing vest at a very reasonable price I would recommend this product. I have only fished with it about 10 times. If I end up having issues with longevity or premature fabric wear I will revisit and change my review. At this juncture I would gift or purchase this for myself without worrying.

I had one very similar to this which this has now replaced. I loved the last one and I like this one more. Lots of pockets and pretty durable construction. Not overly heavy feeling or uncomfortable when it's loaded up either. There's an excessive amount of adjustment strap included, which is probably good for all different size folks and preferred styles, but I just adjusted to my height and neatly snipped the rest off. Excited to hit the river with this bad boy!

This is my first fishing vest so I don't have anything to compare to. It is handy and convenient though, particularly when I'm wading in the middle of the river.The vest is made of a polyester canvas like material, durable enough to not easily rip. The back however, is a lot of mesh, which may snag and wear down sooner. It does keep the back cooler when it's warm out though. The vest sits higher up on the chest than I thought, feeling like a half vest rather than a full body vest like a life jacket. The many pockets make it convenient to store pre-tied gear and little organizer boxes of tackle. However, you do need to find your own boxes that fit in the pockets. A well loaded vest can replace a sling bag or backpack and is more stable to open and close when fishing mid river. It is a bit hard to clean though when you get some fish blood, mud, or smell gel on it and will get grimy gradually.

This is a great vest. It fits and is flexible. This fits my son who is very tall and skinny and fits me very tall but a little "thicker". It also fits my wife. It is adjustable at the shoulders and sides. It is comfortable and you can jam quite a lot of gear into it. It has more pockets than you will need. It is also breathable, and you can leave it unzipped and use an internal clip to keep it on. The zippers are good. In general, I really love this fishing vest. Highly recommend.

So the photoshopped pics don't accurately portray the fit... This sits higher on your body like a chest rig, which I prefer when wading...good to keep your stuff out of the water. They quality is excellent at this price point. All the zippers work well, not silky smooth but workable. Nice bright orange tabs so you can find the zippers quickly. Plenty of nooks and pockets to stuff things into and expandable outwards to really stuff things in. Mesh backing to keep from it becoming water-logged. This really is a Goldielocks fit for me as it is a vest that wears higher like a chest rig but with all the more room for gear.

I'm sure this isn't professional grade, but it sure seems to to me. Material, Sri thing, overall workmanship, all exceed my expectations. I'm no pro fisherman, but I can say this bag is legit quality. I appreciate the double zippers and nice pull ties for it too - I have no complaints on this vest and love it!

A challenge when kayak fishing is keeping tools and equipment close at hand. Space is so limited on kayaks, and this vest will make it easier for me to get most of the things I need without having to turn around and dig in the crate behind me. The size is easily adjustable, and I can wear my life jacket underneath it. In addition to the many pockets, I like that there are several loops for securing commonly used tools, for example, whistle, hook disgorger, needle nose pliers, etc.It is well made - the first thing I noticed was the primary zipper seems beefier than expected on a fishing vest. I also like that it has a patch of loop material for securing items with Velcro hook material. The many zippered pockets will keep your equipment secure in the event of a capsize. I feel this is a good value for both kayak anglers and fly fishing.

My fishing expeditions have been dependable with the Gonex Fly Fishing Vest. Men and women will both benefit from a fantastic fit thanks to its adjustable and comfy design. Having many compartments is useful for transporting and organizing necessary materials for fly fishing. The reflective stripes, which provide an additional degree of safety in low light, are something I really value. My fishing excursions are now more convenient and fun thanks to this vest.

We ordered this Fly fishing vest as a gift and had this directly sent off to my Father-in-Law, for his birthday gift. He is an avid Fly Fisherman.When his birthday arrived and after he opened the box, he immediately contacted me very excitedly.He loved just how comfortable this vest was, and just how well made this was.But best of all, he loved all the pockets! He stated that he could pretty much wade out into the river now, without having to return for any other items he may need. He can now carry almost all the important things with him in this little vest!High praise indeed from him! I guess we picked the right present for him this year! LOL!

Has all the features, pockets and compartments of a much more expensive vest. The only difference is that this vest is made out of good quality fabrics and materials instead of "premium" fabrics and materials. In short, you're more likely to wear it out over years of use instead of passing it on to your grandson as an heirloom. Stitching is excellent throughout. I searched every inch of the vest and couldn't find a single stitch out of place. Like with a number of garments manufactured in China, the main zipper is left-handed. But I'll normally wear the vest buckled (not zipped) so I'll rarely notice the lefty zipper. I like saving money and I really like this vest.

Permanent feature in my fishing gear now. I put just about all my tackle in this thing and just throw it in my fishing bag. When I get to the site, I just put it on and I got all I need right on my chest. Great for any kind of organizational needs. Not just fishing.

This vest has a TON of pockets. Pockets within pockets even. I thought I had found them all, but then I found a couple more when taking the vest off again. It's pretty crazy. I don't know that I'll use most of them, but it will definitely be helpful for carrying my equipment and flies. The rod holder loop is helpful when tying flies onto the line, etc. The mesh makes it nice and cool when out on the water too. I can't speak to durability yet, but I like this vest. I've been looking for one for a while now and this one fits the bill.

Love this fishing vest! Has tons of little compartments to put your stuff in and I mean A LOT lol. Also the back of it is mesh so that's nice so you won't be super hot and sweaty. Overall it looks good, fits good and is absolutely functional for when out fishing!!

Just returned from a fishing trip and I wore this vest while I was fly fishing for trout.This vest is so comfortable and lightweight... and has pockets galore!It is also shorter than some of my other fishing vests, which I appreciate because when I'm wading in deeper water, the vest doesn't get wet.It fits as described but also has a nice feature of an elastic clasp that you can use instead of the zipper, to hold the 2 sides of the vest together. I LOVE this feature. Makes it much easier to maneuver around with the vest on.I truly couldn't be happier with this vest.

So thrilled to get it as a surprise, had to show it off to all his friends! Tons of pockets, zippers, loops. Mesh to keep it cool and light. All kinds of adjustment points for the perfect fit. Has more features than you can imagine. Very good quality fabric, stitching, etc. Any fisherman would love this vest to add to his/her arsenal.

Very high quality vest, the adjustability in the sizing is great. Will work for tons of people and different amounts of layering underneath. There ate dozens of pockets, pouches, and clip points for holding gear and accesories.

There are just SO MANY POCKETS! I've been going shore fishing a number of times this year, and I knew exactly what I was missing out on -- having a nice fishing vest to carry some lures. I'm not the type to use live bait, so I bring some bags of artificial plastics. None of the gulp stuff, so I'm not really worried about leaking -- my criteria was some deep pockets to hold my phone (S23 Ultra, so one of the largest phones out there), and zipper pockets that will ensure my bags of lures don't go flying away when the wind blows.What's also nice about this is the front pocket with a hard insert (might be plastic?), because you can store some hooks without worrying about them piercing through to the inner pockets. This allows me to quickly shove a hook away without too much disruption from my fishing instead of worrying about tossing things back into the tackle -- which you wouldn't want to do anyway, while you're saltwater fishing because you want to avoid rusting your other dry hooks.I'm a huge fan of the rugged plastic zipper down the middle; however, I wish the other pocket zippers were also plastic. This means they will corrode if you get them wet in the saltwater, so make sure to rinse them. As a fishing vest though, I wouldn't feel weird about just giving these a rinse between fishing trips.As a slim, short guy (5'5", 135-ish lbs), I found this vest to be very adjustable to fit tightly. It could accommodate quite a wide body range, so whether you're tall or short, I think it'll work fine. I saw some comments/reviews about it being too small, but I don't think they were adjusting it properly since I am pretty sure the straps for the shoulder could be pulled quite long.

This turned out to be better than expected. So many pockets and zippered slots. Looks great, and is extremely functional. I highly recommend this vest.

This comfortable fishing vest has tons of pockets that can fit pretty much anything you may need. It's also very adjustable and can fit both kids and adults. Sits very well.
